Launching in 2020 at the virtual Global Coffee Festival, PB Barista Masters is a brand-new competition where baristas will showcase their greatest plant-based coffee creations. This year’s contest is taking place in partnership with ALPRO, where baristas will use ALPRO Barista Oat, Soy and Almond ranges to create their unique, plant-based signature drinks. Plant-Based Barista Masters is the perfect platform to highlight the versatility and quality of plant-based beverages, as well as barista skill and creativity.

What To Expect

Four contenders will battle head-to-head in a time-pressed challenge to win the coveted title of PB Barista Masters Champion 2020 and the chance to have their creation coined the official GCF 2020 signature drink.

Think you have what it takes? If you’re a barista or a latte art master, submit your application to take part in Plant-Based Barista Masters — and be featured in The Global Coffee Festival official programme — today!
 
To apply, simply post an image or video of you creating your best plant-based coffee drink (using non-dairy alternatives such as oat, soy, almond or coconut) on Instagram and tag @GlobalCoffeeFestival and #PBBaristaMasters by 25 September 2020. 

Three things to keep in mind when creating your drink: it should be sustainable, it should be healthy and it obviously should taste great! 

The baristas behind our top four creations will be selected as finalists. Finalists will be contacted by 28 September 2020 and invited to compete in the filmed competition in our London studio on 9 October 2020.


 
How It Works
 
The four selected baristas will be invited to join us in our London studio to compete (with social distancing measures in place!) in 9 October 2020. The contenders will create a plant-based coffee drink using their own choice of coffee and a mystery box of ingredients (including a range of ALPRO plant-based beverages) on the spot in front of high-profile judges.

The drinks will be evaluated on taste, creativity and presentation and the winning beverage will be coined the official signature drink of The Global Coffee Festival 2020. The entire competition will be filmed and the episode will broadcast as part of the offical live stream on 30 October 2020 on globalcoffeefestival.com.

The quest to deliver the ultimate plant-based signature coffee beverage is on!
