The True Artisan Café — a fan-favourite feature from the London Coffee Festival — is going virtual for The Global Coffee Festival. Get to know the participants.
The True Artisan Café will feature La Marzocco users showcasing coffees in a unique fashion. As part of The True Artisan Café, each participant will create a ‘signature drink’ especially for the occasion, providing a ‘how-to’ guide so viewers can recreate themselves. As well as the Signature Drink, each participant will explain the back-story to their company and showcase their coffee roaster partner through creation of an espresso based milk-drink.
Get to know the participating bakeries and roasters below, ahead of their demonstration at 16:30 GMT on 30 October 2020.
Join Lee Simmons, owner of Canakin, and Ryan Caisley, London Wholesale Manager at Origin Coffee Roasters, create their Signature Drink, "Orange Espresso Tonic". The drink is made with Origin's San Fermin, Colombian Single Origin, used because of its bright orange notes and hints of caramel, blood orange marmalade and tonic water.
About Canakin:
"Canakin was born from a desire to bring specialty coffee and patisserie to my home town of Reigate. Opened in late summer 2019, Canakin quickly gained popularity for its macarons and cinnamon buns, and is now a benchmark for great coffee and patisserie in the area. Our mission is to ‘make everything’ which sets us apart from our competition. This has been the key to our success during our first year of opening."
Brera x Notes
Join Vasiliy Stehura, Head of Drinks and Beverages at Brera, create a seasonal "Autumn Pumpkin Latte". Made with real-food ingredients like baked pumpkin puree, cinnamon and agave syrup, and rounded off with Notes' Caffee Italiano Superiore, a full-body espresso with notes of chocolate, nuts, marmalade and black cherry.
About Brera:
"Established in 1991, BRERA is an epicurean all-day restaurant with a cosy atmosphere, amazing service & authentic Italian dishes. We are inspired by the style of Milan, the ambience of classic European restaurants and use only the best seasonal ingredients. With the recent opening of our bakery we offer hand shaped goods which we believe results in a superior quality of our breads and desserts. It is the care that goes into the ingredients we source, the precision in the way we prepare it, the joy with which we serve it, and the love we offer to our customers. We build communities around our tables."
Adrianna Murk and Delvis Gracia Marte from Popham's Bakery join forces to created "Affogato Pastry". This unique beverage is created with a pastry case made from croissant dough, lined with dark chocolate, a scoop of Hackney Gelato and a shot of Ozone Empire Blend espresso — with taste notes of nougate, milk chocolate and caramel — poured on top.
